Affiliate marketing lessons.
Thousands upon thousands of folks who would love to become successful online by selling other peoples stuff. You and I have downloaded thousands of e-books, and continue reading books, blogs and websites that do there best to influence you into buying products to help with your online efforts.
You can make a decent part time or full time living by becoming an affiliate marketer, whether you start your own affiliate program or sell someone else’s affiliate products. But how does the inexperienced newbie, or intermediate person really become successful at doing something they have never done or have very little experience at.
How do people start learning this affiliate marketing thing? Do people really make money online by selling other people’s stuff. Why is it so difficult to profit and why are their so many Guru’s pitching the same thing over and over again.
Learning affiliate marketing is like anything else. It takes time, patience and a big willingness to accept the fact that you will fail. Yes YOU will fail! But and this is a big but…this will become your inspiration to succeed. Let me tell you a quick story about my sport playing days.
Please bear with me. I so desperately wanted to become a softball player. I had no talent zero, zilch, nada. I tried to join several teams but no one wanted me. I failed miserably and team after team dropped me from their roster like a wet paper bag full of potatoes.
Could not throw, run nor hit. I knew deep in my heart that I was awful…just plain no good. But the desire to be a good player was embedded deep into my soul, heart and mind.
Just tolerate me awhile longer and you will see my affiliate marketing lessons analogy.
I could have quit or turned to something less demanding. Maybe I could do tiddly winks, horse shoes – maybe jogging, nope. I wanted to become a good solid softball player and nothing short of a heart attack was going to stop me.
I started reading softball books at the local library (no internet in 1974). I went to several free coaching lessons at our University. I bought numerous books on how to gain bat speed, strengthen exercises for power. I read books about stretching and using lighter weights for sprinters. I studied and practiced religiously almost to the point of madness.
I also went to several college and inter-city-leagues games and studied the best players. I studied their every move how they so effortlessly ran, caught, and hit the long ball. I asked questions and did my best to get good useful advice.
It took more than several years to become that good solid all around player that I wanted to become. Other teams noticed and it didn’t take long till I was listed on their roster. It felt good to accomplish something I knew would happen.
Most folks have to learn and train to become proficient at what they want. It does not happen overnight. There are some people who have God-given talent but they too have to keep analyzing and keep current of the latest techniques in what ever niche, sport or trade that will keep them at the pinnacle of their profession.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what the analogy between my sports venture and affiliate marketing are. Stop fiddling around and make the right choices. Read, research, ask questions, and become active with your own online social interaction. You will find a lot of good people willing to help you with your own online success.
This is not really an affiliate marketing lesson but more of an inspirational story about the determination to succeed.

Here are 4 steps that you need to take to get easy website traffic.
- The longer your website has been online the better. Pretty simple website traffic information. Most search engines including the highly touted Google wants to make sure your online business is in it for the long haul. This is why you should purchase webhosting for an entire year or more. Getting free traffic to your website or blog today is getting harder and harder to do. Everyday new websites are trying to get top billing on google, MSN, Yahoo and other top search engines. Millions of websites are popping up every single day.

This is an easy question for me to answer. You write articles about what you know! Automated SEO software for link building
Way too many automation software being used by Internet Marketing professionals and newbies alike.
Link Building Automated software is on the way out. I myself used these link building programs that flooded my email with “I’ll link to your site it you link to mine” You probably did to. But Google is now cracking down on these programs.
There are now automated forum programs where you only have to download it, configure to your website or blog and it will automatically submit your b.s. comments to other forums. Wow…more ways to trick the search engines into thinking you have more back links. Real useful comments that will help you converse with your audience will work. Not only will you get a response from your visitor but other visitors may even click on their website link.
There are also the same type of automation software that will automatically submit your website or blog to thousands of directories. This is a big waste of time. Only a few directories worth submitting to. DMOZ and Yahoo come to mind they are both directories.
Mass Submitting your articles via autmated software is also over rated. Many good article submission software online today that do help. But I would just submit my article manually to the top ten article directories right here:

How to track website visitors
Checking visitors and traffic is essential to any marketing plan. Without it you have no way of telling you where your visitors or customers are coming from.
There are ton of free resources to help you figure out where, how and most importantly what keywords your visitors are using to find your website or post. Your web-hosting provider should have good analytical information via the cpanel section of your account. You should be able to see stats such as keywords. Obviously the keyword stats are very important!
Google Analytics is another good stats site that does help you determine where your website visitors are coming from. However the two I’ve mentioned above work well but does it takes somewhat of a learning curve to figure out how they work.
The number one stats website or program online today is statcounter.com it provides me with all the stats I want to know. And it does it in a very user friendly script.
Does your website get enough traffic? If not you better pay attention to the search engines and what keywords your visitors are using to find you, and what keywords potential visitors are using but not finding your website listed for yet. Statcounter.com does all this for free.
Popular pages is another stat you should check on quite often. Knowing which pages are visited most often is a powerful way of monetizing or doing better SEO for your other pages. If some pages are being overlooked it could be a good idea to improve or make the navigation to those pages more obvious.
